Men's League

You’re likely to find the grill fired up and beverages in the cooler awaiting you on Saturday mornings in the spring and fall. Consider creating a new team or joining an established one if this sounds like fun to you! Teams are formed and managed by individual members and play is out of ALTA-approved facilities, including tennis centers, private clubs and neighborhoods.

League Details

Each team must have a minimum of 12 men. A player cannot be added to a roster if his dues are not paid. Please refer to General Rules – Adult Leagues I.F. to see who must play at the AA, A or B levels. Team placement is determined by previous performance of the team and its current members. If new to an established team, a player’s history can impact the team’s level and is evaluated on a hierarchy of previous league play. League officials look at, in this order, Men's level (prior two seasons), Mixed Doubles level (prior two seasons), Senior Men's level (most recent past season). Other league information can be found in the Adult Rules and in the Roster Information Packet found in the ALTA Documents below.

ALTA Documents

Need ALTA information? You're in the right place for rules, handbooks, guides and season packets that will answer questions and provide necessary instructions for playing ALTA. Document availability is role-based. If you are a captain or other team leader, you will have access to more information than a regular member to help you do your job. ALTA tennis follows the USTA Rules of Tennis found in Friend at Court. ALTA pickleball follows the USA Pickleball Official Rulebook.  You should also consult ALTA's rules for specific guidelines concerning league play and other ALTA-sponsored events. Those rules provide information on ALTA-specific regulations, such as default, forfeiture, retirement, scheduled match, sandbagging, inclement weather, rules specific to each league and the Junior Challenge Ladder.
